Program Overview

Jump Start participants learn about the changing culture of Mental Health Services through field work and classes at the CSUDH campus.  Curriculum and practice focuses on: Living with Mental Illness, Principles of Recovery & Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Helping Relationships, and Populations & Programs.  Complete curriculum description is available here (MS-Word).

Participants Needed

We are looking for participants who represent a broad range of cultural & socio-economic backgrounds; graduates (with a B.A. or B.S. in any field) of all ages, interests, and academic & work experience are encouraged to apply.

The ideal participant has a commitment to social justice, enjoys working with people, wants to make a difference in other people's lives, and has an appreciation for diversity.

*Priority will be given to persons in recovery from mental illness and family members of persons with mental illness.
