MGA Championship

What is the MGA Championship?

This will be a 2 day event to determine the MGA Gross and Net Champions.  There are, of course, flight winners too, like all MGA flighted events.

Format

Format for the event is individual stroke play flighted by handicap and tees played.  Within each flight, winners will be determined by net score, just like we do on the 1st Wednesday of the month.

MGA Gross Champion

  • The MGA Gross Champion is that player hitting from the Blue or Senior Moorish tees and shooting the lowest Gross score.   Any player wishing to compete for Gross Champion may do so by telling the pro shop he wants to play from the Blue/Senior Moorish tees "for that day."
  • Note:  If The Creeks are part of the daily rotation, any player normally playing from the Blue tees may, at his discretion, notify the pro shop by Friday afternoon and move forward to the Senior Moorish tees.  He may choose to remain on the Blue tees, but he will be competing for Gross Champion with players hitting  from the Senior Moorish tees.

MGA Net Champion

  • The MGA Net Champion is that player hitting from ANY tees and scoring the lowest Net score.

Plaque

  • The Gross and Net Champions will be the idol of worship among their peers in the MGA and will have their name engraved on a plaque displayed in the club house.
