"How to Prepare, Present, and Critique a Sermon" teaches just that to Worship Committees, Staff/Parish Relations Committees, new preachers (and other large-group speakers), and even curious pew-sitters. ALL are welcome. This is a practical class in how to get your point across to a larger group without panicking. It is presented in a one-day class. This class is being taught by the author, Rev. Bill McBride of Lake Mills UMC. As an LSM Advanced Course, it is accredited for 8 hours of the 10 required to satisfy the Lay Servant 3-year continuing education requirement.

Pre-Registration

Targeting: Staff/Parish Relations Committees, Worship Committees, Lay Servants new to preaching, Lay Leaders and Lay Reps to Annual Conference (who speak from the pulpit occasionally), and anyone interested in preaching from the perspective of the pew.

Topics: preparation resources, forms and styles, physical presence, voice, remembering your sermon, analysis, constructive feedback, etc.

Needed: Bible, notebook or journal, pen/pencil
