COMING IN MAY, 2009:  We will be holding two clinics at the StockHorse facility in Toston, Montana.

May 2-3 @ 9:00 a.m.: The first clinic is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Breeders Association (RMBA). Members of RMBA have already started signing up for this clinic. If you are interested, please contact Jan Finn from the RMBA at (406) 266-4992. She will be handling the registration for this clinic and can give you the details. If it is full, she will be keeping the waiting list.

May 16-17 @ 9:00 a.m.: The second clinic is sponsored by us (the StockHorse LLC). All you need to do to sign up is download the form below called "ClinicSignup.pdf", print it, fill it out and send it with your deposit. Or, you can contact Donald at (406) 266-5849 or dezba@netzero.com and we'll provide you with the necessary paperwork to get you started.

Both clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of working cattle in the performance pen. You will learn the "hows" and "whys" of the how the cutting (or cow) horse works. Donald begins by showing you how he starts a horse in the round pen, and then on cattle. Then, you will have the opportunity try your hand. You will start by working a single cow and then using the mechanical cow, just to get the moves down. At the end, you will be given the opportunity to select a cow from a herd and use your "moves" to keep it from going back into the herd. Donald will even give the group instruction on how to be a helper for herd work (e.g., turn back rider, herd holder). Auditors: Are welcome to watch for free. If you would like lunch, we will be charging $5 per day.

-   I90 to Helena Exit, Hwy 287
-   Turn north (right)
-   Approximately 20 miles (at the Bunkhouse Bar), turn left towards Radersburg
-   Drive 5.3 miles and take a right  where you see the triangular sign that says "StockHorse Cutting Horses" (it is the first right after the 5 mile marker).
-   Go all the way down the lane to the barn with the green roof. You are there!

Directions from Helena:
-   Take Hwy 287 south.
-   Approximately 11 miles south of Townsend, take a right (at the Bunkhouse Bar) toward Radersburg. The turn is right at the bottom of the bridge over the Missouri River.
-   Drive 5.3 miles and take a right  where you see the triangular sign that says "StockHorse Cutting Horses" (it is the first right after the 5 mile marker).
-   Go all the way down the lane to the barn with the green roof. You are there!
