WELCOME!
The Merseyside Guild of Weavers usually meets on the first Saturday of each month (except August). This year we shall be meeting at the Friends Meeting House, School Lane, Liverpool (next to the Bluecoat Gallery). Meetings are from 1pm until 5pm. Please see programme for further details.
The Guild is made up of a group of enthusiasts who are interested in weaving, spinning and/or dyeing. But members’ interests don’t stop there: embroidery, knitting, feltmaking, basketry and lacemaking are amongst our other pursuits.
Our Guild was set up in 1979 and is one of some 114 Guilds from the British Isles and overseas which together form the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. There is also an Online Guild for members who cannot get to a meeting. The Association produces a quarterly magazine, “The Journal” which is available through local Guilds at £12 per annum or by individual subscription . Our Guild Banner was designed and made by members and incorporates tapestry weaving, inkle weaving, tablet weaving and felting.
