Mercury Falling
Please visit mercuryfallingjax.blogspot.com or email Mercury Falling for more information and to get involved.
Jacksonville has the highest mercury emissions in the state of Florida (according to the Florida Public Interest Research Group), and almost all of our emissions come from JEA - our city-owned utility. Mercury is a dangerous neurotoxin, especially harmful to pregnant women and children, and one of the main reasons we can't eat the fish we catch. Please write the mayor and city council and tell them to support the Mercury Falling initiative - which calls for JEA to decrease its mercury emissions by the same amount it increases rates.
