The primary responsibility of a committee member is to contact families assigned to them and arrange to meet with them and their children during the summer.  It is more helpful to new families to have this contact soon after they move or register to attend Memorial School.  Some families will not arrive until the very end of summer, and we can accommodate them more easily if we have been greeting our families as they arrive in Manchester.  If you are typically away all summer, or a large portion of it, this is not the committee for you.  The most important thing we do is try to make sure that a new child has at least one familiar face on the first day of school.
