So what's the deal, huh? Q: There are literally millions of other web sites out there, so why should I give up a second of my valuable time to peruse this site? A: The answer is simple. Because if you don't, I will visit upon you and yours a terrible curse that will make you regret ever having made the unwise decision to not peruse my site. All those years in Miami hanging around the santero's and Haitian bokor have made me quite knowledgeable in the Black Arts. Beware my chicken foot! Okay, so I am full of crap. I don't know any real curses, nor do I know any santero's or voodoo practitioners. But I will give you a real mean look if you navigate away from my page!
About MeMy name is Mitch. I was born many years ago in New York, but spent most of my youth in Miami. Lived in Colorado, Utah, then back to Miami. Now l live in a small town in Florida, located in the no-man's-land between Tampa and Orlando. I still have friends that I made over a quarter-century ago - and along with God, my wife and family, they are all that matter to me. Minimalistic as far as bio's go, right? That is because that I have learned that the past is given way too much import in judging people and defining oneself by; besides, the past is immutable... people are not. As I progress along in years, it seems that the more I experience in life, the less I know. While I have a firmly established belief system and a solid core of values and morals, I find it difficult to immediately take a steadfast position or succumb to knee-jerk reactions. I must first analyze and consider, and if I have time, do a little research. In my late teens and early adulthood, I knew everything...or at least so I thought. Now I know nothing. I fear that by the time I reach my "golden years", I will be unable to make the simplest of decisions ("Eat breakfast or BM?") without sitting down to consider the ramifications and questioning my impartiality in making an impartial decision, until finally I am reduced to a babbling idiot. This is why, I believe, that I am a Republican and a Conservative. My youthful ideals have been replaced by the (sometimes harsh) realities that life presents through direct experience. But that doesn't make me misanthropic. I still believe the best of people, but I also know that Nature's mechanisms for survival preclude a Utopian society. However, this is not the forum to express my philosophical and political leanings (I have a blog for that express purpose-contact me for the URL), so without further ado, here is my site. | Et CeteraHappenings
