Application Process

Becoming a Member

We are always looking for people interested in joining our organization.

If you have documentation that leads you to believe you may be descended from a passenger on the Mayflower voyage of 1620 that terminated on the shores of New England at Plymouth, you may be eligible to join the Society. Any person able to document his/her lineal descent from one or more of the Mayflower passengers is eligible to apply for membership in the Society

Benefits of Joining

There are several benefits to becoming a member of our organization:
  • Learn more about your family and their history
  • Membership in the Maine Mayflower Society includes membership in the national society, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and a subscription to its magazine, The Mayflower Quarterly.
  • The Maine Society holds three open meetings annually for members and their guests.
  • By joining the Society of Mayflower Descendants, your genealogical record will be filed in a secure place, both with the Maine Society and with the General Society in Plymouth, Massachusetts. With your records on file with the Society in this manner, it will be easier for your descendants to establish their genealogical lines.
