Workshops: Writing and Performance

Meg's workshops:
  • support the idea that everyone's life story is important and worthwhile.
  • provide autobiographical writing activities based on memory and personal history that make writing accessible, fun, and transformative.
  • can focus on a particular theme or issue and are created with your community in mind.
  • can suit any age group
  • take place in classrooms, community centers, theaters, or arts organizations.
  • longer workshops incorporate movement and drama activities, and can culminate in public performance of solo and/or group projects.

"Thanks very much for coming and allowing us to fill your day with workshop, after workshop.
So many students were touched and changed by the experience with you. I visited one of the classes three days later and read one of the poems, created in a new way by a student, absolutely proud of his work. How often can that happen? Days later and your aura had not gone. Your evaluations and the writings that came from your sessions tell it all. You are a professional who can reach young people AND their teachers."
- Rebecca Jim, Director, LEAD Agency and The Annual Conference at Tar Creek, Oklahoma

Several types of workshops are available, from 1-hour classroom visits to long-term residencies
