Supplies needed Photoshop CS3 (or any version) or PSP Plugin to make PSP files work in Photoshop HERE Tube of choice Silver glitter animation found HERE Missy's Template #79. Go to her site HERE to pick it up. Scrap kit of choice; I'm using "Snow Bunny," a freebie by Sarah Bryan. You can grab it at Pimp My Tags HERE. Before we begin, a note. I create my tags in Photoshop, and that's the program this tutorial is written for. However, I use tutorials written for PSP quite often, so I know it's pretty easy to convert the steps from one to another. Give it a shot! Let's begin! Open a new canvas 600x600. Flood fill white. Missy includes a .psd format of most of her templates. Hooray, Missy! Open the template, then move all the layers except background, word art, and copyright into your new canvas. Open a paper from the kit. Resize to 400x400. Drag and drop into your new canvas. Position it above the back circle layer, right click on the paper in the layers palette --> create clipping mask. Once you're happy, ctrl+e to flatten. Add a drop shadow #404040. Open another paper. Resize to 500x500, and repeat the above steps for the scalloped circle layer. Add the same drop shadow. Use another paper for the inside of the frame. Use Edit --> Transform --> Scale and Edit --> Transform --> Rotate to get it placed properly. Open your tube of choice. Resize if necessary. Drag and drop it into your canvas, then duplicate. Move one copy under the frame. Erase the parts of both layers hang out over/under the bottom of the frame. Add a black drop shadow to the bottom copy of your tube. Open the word art provided with the scrap kit. Drag and drop it into your canvas, and resize as necessary. Add the same drop shadow as on your circle layers, and position to your liking. Pick a dark color from your tube, then flood fill a new layer with that color. Position it above the frame layer, right click on the new solid layer in the layers palette --> create clipping mask. Once you're happy, ctrl+e to flatten. Add a drop shadow #404040 and bevel and emboss. I used the same color for the name that I used on the frame. Bevel and emboss, and add a 2px stroke using a color from your tag. Drag and drop the glitter circle into your canvas and position it behind the circles. Add your copyright info and signature of choice. Now to animate! Open the silverglitter.psd file you found at the link above. Hide the top two layers, and select the bottom layer. Go to Edit --> Define Pattern, and name it "Silver 1" or similar. Now hide the bottom layer, and repeat for the second layer, then the third. You should have 3 new patterns, one for each layer of the silverglitter file. Close the file; you're done with it. Duplicate the "snowflakes" layer twice, so you have a total of 3. Add a pattern overlay to the original snowflakes layer using the "silver 1" pattern you created. Add a pattern overlay to the "snowflakes copy" layer using the "silver 2" pattern you created. Finally, add a pattern overlay to the "snowflakes copy 2" layer using the "silver 3" pattern you created. Open your animation palette and make sure you have it set on frame animation. Set the loop to "forever" and the time to .3. Hide the copy and the copy 2 snowflakes layers, so that only the original is showing. Duplicate your frame in the animation palette, then hide the original snowflakes and unhide the first copy. Duplicate, then hide the first snowflakes copy and unhide the second. Hit "play" to preview. Now save as an unflattened .psd file, then go to File --> Save for Web & Devices. Resize if necessary, and save. You're done! I'd love to see your results!
