Supplies needed Photoshop CS3 or PSP Plugin to make PSP files work in Photoshop HERE Tube(s) of choice Missy's Template #172. Go to her site HERE to pick it up. Scrap Kit of choice; I'm using "Sticky Sweet" by Pimpd. Visit Scrap Heaven Boutique to purchase. Filters: PhotoEffex: Scanlines, Xero: Fritillary and Porcelain, EyeCandy: Gradient Glow, and Mura's Meister: Copies. Before we begin, a note. I create my tags in Photoshop, and that's the program this tutorial is written for. However, I use tutorials written for PSP quite often, so I know it's pretty easy to convert the steps from one to another. Give it a shot! Let's Begin! Make sure you've installed the plugins before you open Photoshop! Open a new canvas 600x600. Flood fill white. Missy includes a .psd format of most of her templates. Hooray, Missy! Open the template, then move all the layers except background, words and copyright into your new canvas. Open a paper from the kit, pref. a darker one. Drag and drop into your new canvas. Position it above the back rectangle layer, right click on the paper in the layers palette --> create clipping mask. Once you're happy, ctrl+e to flatten. Add a drop shadow. Duplicate this layer, then choose a lighter paper. Drag and drop into your canvas above the bottom of the two rectangles. Create clipping mask and flatten. Remove the drop shadow. Next, go to Filter --> Blur --> Gaussian Blur --> 20. Add horizontal scanlines using the default settings in PhotoEffex. Open another dark paper from the kit, and drag and drop it into your canvas. Use your magic wand tool and click inside the circle in the circle shape layer. Selections --> Modify --> Expand by 3. Highlight the paper layer you just created in the layers palette, Selections --> Modify --> Inverse Selection --> hit delete. Add the same horizontal scan lines to your new circle. Use a pixel type font (I chose Pixelette) size 10 and type the words "Sexy Sweet" in a color that compliments your tube. Center them on your canvas, and use Mura's Meister copies with the following settings: Ctrl+click the new circle layer in the layers palette to select it. Highlight the "Sexy Sweet" layer. Selections --> Modify --> Inverse Selection --> Hit Delete. Duplicate the "Sexy Sweet" layer. Set the bottom layer to "Luminosity" and the opacity to 50%. Set the top layer to "Soft Light." Use the same dark paper for the largest vertical rectangle. Add a stroke #f2dde6 and a drop shadow. For the middle rectangle, use a dark pink paper. Go to Filter --> Xero --> Fritillary and use the following settings: Add the same stroke and a drop shadow. Use a lighter pink paper for the smallest rectangle, the same stroke, and a drop shadow. Open your tube. The one I'm using conveniently has a close up! Drag and drop the close up into your canvas and position it above the circle layer you created. Ctrl+click the circle in the layers palette to select it. Highlight the close up, then Selections --> Expand by 2 --> Inverse Selection --> hit delete. Duplicate the close up layer. I learned this neat trick from Missy, btw. *g* On the top close up layer, set the opacity to 80% and the Blend Mode to "Overlay." Go to Filter --> Blur --> Gaussian Blur --> 3. Next, Filter --> Xero --> Porcelain and play with the settings until you get something you like. On the bottom close up layer, set the opacity to 80% and the Blend Mode to "Luminosity." Drag and drop your tube into your canvas. Add a drop shadow, then Filter --> Eye Candy --> Gradiant Glow. I use Eye Candy 5: Impact, and the glow I chose is "Subtle White Glow." Play around until you find what you like! Open the back-print.png file from the kit. Resize, and drag and drop into your canvas. Duplicate, and use the same light pink paper you used on the bottom large rectangle as a clipping mask. Filter --> Blur --> Gaussian Blur --> 10. Add the same horizontal scan lines as you did before. Add embelishments of your choice from the kit; I chose a frame, the cute cherries, and a jaunty bow. Add drop shadows to everything. The font on the name is SwingSet BB in #ef9dbf with a 2px stroke in #7a375e, and inner glow in #f2dde6, bevel and emboss, and a drop shadow. Add your copyright info and signature of choice. Flatten, Save, and you're done! I'd love to see your results! Feel free to email me at mcw717@gmail.com. Make sure you put something like "tut results" in the subject line so I know you're not trying to sell me a dip1oma. Written by Meg Whitlock on May 26, 2009.
