Scrap Kit of choice; I'm using "You've Got My Heart" by Kasia Designs. Visit Shabby Pickle HERE to purchase. Filter: PhotoEffex. Before we begin, a note. I create my tags in Photoshop, and that's the program this tutorial is written for. However, I use tutorials written for PSP quite often, so I know it's pretty easy to convert the steps from one to another. Give it a shot! Let's Begin! Make sure you've installed the plugins before you open Photoshop! Open a new canvas 600x600. Flood fill white. Open the paper heart layer. Resize if necessary, and drag and drop into your blank canvas. Add outer glow #c88292. Open a paper of choice, resize if necessary, and drag and drop into your canvas. Use the magic wand tool to select the paper heart. Selections --> modify --> expand by 10 --> Selections --> Inverse. Highlight your newest paper layer and hit delete. Add the same outer glow to your new heart and duplicate. With the bottom heart selected, go to Blur --> Gaussian Blur 10. Next, Filter --> PhotoEffex --> Scanlines using the following settings: Open your tube. Drag and drop into your canvas, and add a drop shadow and the same Outer Glow. Open elements of your choice from the kit. Resize, and drag and drop into your canvas. Arrange to your liking and add drop shadows to each. Open Vix' Mask 239. Double click on the picture in the layer palette to unlock the layers. Next, Filter --> Transparency --> Eliminate Black --> Layer --> Matting --> Remove Black Matte. Drag and drop into your canvas. Open a paper of choice from the kit, resize, drag and drop. Place above the mask layer --> right click in the layers palette --> create clipping mask. Ctrl+e to flatten, then move your mask into place. The name has a drop shadow Distance 4, Spread 4, Size 0, the same outer glow, and a 1px stroke. Add your copyright info and signature of choice. Resize, flatten, save, and you're done! I'd love to see your results! Feel free to email me at mcw717@gmail.com. Make sure you put something like "tut results" in the subject line so I know you're not trying to sell me a fake Rolex. Written by Meg Whitlock on May 24, 2009. Any resemblance to another tut is completely coincidental and unintentional. |
