Meer Family Basically, Meer Family is a very respectable and famous family of the District. Rahim Yar Khan. Meer Syed Muhammad Hussain Esq. was the first one who had migrated from Meerut, India in the 3rd quarter of 19th Century. First, he came to Sargodha, Pakistan and there, he purchased a lot of land for cultivation purpose. One of his forefathers named Mir Syed Muhammad Yousaf Ali Esqr. was Prime Minister of Ex-State of Malir Kotla, East Punjab, India who had some very personal relations of the then Ameer of Bahawal Pur. When Ameer of Bahawal Pur, His Excellency Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbassi IV came to know that Meer Syed Muhammad Hussain Esq. had shifted to Sargodha, he called for Meer Sahib at Bahawal Pur and offered the job of Tehsildar of Tehsil Rahim Yar Khan which was a newly established city. Meer Sahib accepted the offer and shifted to Rahim Yar Khan at a higher land (Tibbah). There, he made his own residence which was called a Havelly. It was a grand Havelly which had internal house and three outer portions called Dairah. Meer Syed Muhammad Hussain Esq. was the 1st Tehsildar of the Tehsil Rahim Yar Khan in last quarter of 19th century. He was a land lord of the area and very famous due to his kindness. He is called a Saint of this area. He was died getting an age of more then 100 years in 1963. In the old city of Rahim Yar Khan, one of the most populated bazaar/road is on his name. He had 8 sons and 7 daughters. All his sons were high government officials during the period of Ex-State of Bahawal Pur. After his adjustment, he also called for his two cousins from Meerut, India. First on was Meer Syed Muhammad Yaseen Esq. and Meer Syed Muhammad Nazeer Esq. Meer Syed Muhammad Yaseen Esq. was settled at Sadiq Abad District Rahim Yar Khan which was also newly established city at that time and was built in the name of Ameer of Bahawal Pur His Excellency Hafiz-ul-Mulk Rukn-ud-Daulah Mukkhlis-ud-Daulah Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbassi IV Bahadur Nusrat Jung Nawab of Bahawal Pur from 1866 to 1899. His 2nd cousin Meer Syed Muhammad Nazeer Esq. had shifted at Chak No.34/12L, Chichawatni of District Sahiwal. |
