28th June - Mindfulness & Meditation

posted Jun 27, 2011 6:10 AM by Meditate Milton Keynes

We are meeting this Tuesday (28th June) at our usual venue, The Well in Willen. We will be starting at 7.30pm (see Map & Directions).

We will start the evening with a quick hello and introduction followed by an approx. 30 minute period of guided meditation. The meditation will include instruction for beginners.

After a short tea break we will be continuing with our course:

Life with Full Attention

This is a course aimed at taking our practice of mindfulness into our daily lives - turning off the autopilot and living life more fully.

The course is based around the book: Life with Full Attention - A Practical Course in Mindfulness by Maitreyabandhu.

Each week we introduce a different aspect of mindfulness such as awareness of the body, feelings, thoughts and the environment; and recommend a number of easy practices for the week ahead, such as trying out a simple meditation or reading a poem.

I recommend purchasing a copy of Maitreyabandhu's book if you can as it will help you to engage deeper with the material, although this is not a requirement for attendance. If you would like me to bring along a copy of the book for you to purchase, please email me. They cost £12.99.

The evening is suitable for complete beginners to meditation and requires no previous knowledge of Buddhism. Attendance of the previous session of this course are not necessary.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Wishes,

Jayasiddhi
