Many of you are familiar with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and the programs they offer to improve and honor the game.  The North Coast Chapter of US Lacrosse has received a grant from PCA which has partnered with US Lacrosse .   Our Chapter made a commitment to implement the Positive Coaching Alliance programs, shown on the attached flyers, to North Coast Chapter Leadership, Coaches, and

About PCA
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is transforming youth sports so sports can transform youth. Through partnership with more than 1,100 youth sports organizations, leagues, schools and cities nationwide, PCA has conducted 6,000-plus workshops for youth sports coaches, parents, organizational leaders and athletes.Jim_Momentum

Since Executive Director Jim Thompson founded PCA as a non-profit within the Stanford University Athletic Department in 1998, we have helped create a positive, character-building youth sports environment for more than 3 million youth athletes.

In face-to-face group workshops, dynamic PCA Trainers:
  • Train youth and high school sports coaches to become Double-Goal Coaches®, whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports;

  • Develop Second-Goal Parents, who focus on helping their youth athletes learn those life lessons;
      • Learn how to help their children get the most from the youth sports experience

      • Learn how to help coaches and league leaders establish and maintain a positive competitive environment inside youth sports

      • Enjoy an interactive discussion with fellow parents and a facilitator with extensive coaching experience

    • Cultivate Triple-Impact Competitors, student athletes who strive to improve themselves, their teammates and their sport as a whole.
    Everyone can register for the workshops via links below.  Parents do not have to be US Lacrosse members to register.   The two separate programs offered, all at Hudson High School:

    2009 Baggataway

    (bag-ga-ta-way) a form of lacrosse: an early form of lacrosse played by the Native American peoples of eastern North America; a great gathering of people playing lacrosse.

    What a great weekend of lacrosse it was on April of 2009 on the 25th and 26th. Meidna Lacrosse hosted 83 games in two days and none of ithem happen without the help of the people involved in Medina Lacrosse - the coaches, boaard and players. If you know them thank them. They helped over 1,200 players and 3,500 coaches, friends, and family members come to Medina and have a great time playing a wonderful game - lacrosse.
