Many of us prefer to buy organic foods, non-toxic cleaners, natural vitamins and holistic beauty products. But driving to stores offering these products isn’t always convenient or cost-effective. 

The Medina Food Co-op offers a local alternative. Our organization has been in existence for over 20 years.  This is a completely volunteer cooperative organized simply to buy earth-friendly products at wholesale prices.

It’s simple! Orders are put in six times a year. There are minimal obligations. Order on time, help sort and unload on distribution day (usually totals less than an hour start to finish), pay on time. Currently the orders are delivered to a location in Brunswick during the day.

The Medina Food Co-op orders from two main suppliers. 

*United Buying Clubs which offers over hundreds of product lines including Seeds Of Change, Hain, Barbara's Bakery, Simply Organics, Bob's Red Mill, Stonyfield Farm, Seventh Generation, Minerva Cheese, Ecover, etc. Many of these products must be ordered in bulk and members often arrange to split orders of bulk foods. The more our group orders, the greater the discount for all of us. Members order from monthly price guides mailed to their homes.

*Frontier Natural Products Co-op offers products from hundreds of suppliers including Burt’s Bees, Aura Cacia, Desert Essence, Natrol, Dr. Bronner, Weleda, Pet Naturals, Herbs for Kids, Tom's Of Maine and more. There are no extra costs for the Frontier orders as we normally exceed the minimum amount required to get free shipping. The United Buying Club orders generally have a fuel surcharge of approximately $3 per person/order.
