There are two types of Educational Corrective Action Plans (ECAP): -remediation program of intense tutoring designed to help the students improve their knowledge and skills supervised by Educational Tutors -probation program warning that student’s behavior is wrong (unmet professional responsibilities or inappropriate behavior) supervised by standard setting (disciplinary) committee Educational Faculty Board (Rada Pedagogiczna) decides if any of the students should receive the Early Warning Letter qualifyling for the Educational Remediation Program. Students who receive the Early Warning Letter should meet their Educational Tutor to: - fully investigate the extent of an educational problem - investigate possible causes of the problem cognitive (knowledge, judgment, problem solving abilities) noncognitive (interpersonal skills, attitudes, professional behavior) technical (psychomotor skills) secondary issues - decide if the secondary issues can be adequately resolved (as students with a significant secondary problems are unlikely to benefit from remediation until the secondary disorder is brought under control ) - develop the Educational Corrective Action Plan on the basis of the above assessment Educational Remediation Program (ERP) is: - time limited - targeted to student’s specific deficiencies - Educational Tutor mentored - documented in writing Tutor describes the consequences if the student fails to demonstrate improvement during the ERP The role of the tutor is to assist the student but it is solely the student’s responsibility to improve. The final evaluation of the outcome of the ERP is performed by the faculty authorities according to the ERP schedule. |
