School services

The Meapa is very keen to build partnerships with both local Primary and Secondary schools.

We welcome schools to our gym for either regular PE lessons, or just a few Gymnastic lessons to cover their PE Gymnastic curriculum. All our coaches are Enhanced CRB checked and British gymnastics and UKCC qualified.

We are also happy to come along to your school to guide the teaching staff in the delivery of Gymnastics in your school or to give advice in planning a Gymnastic lesson.  Meapa Gymnastic club will always be happy to help PE teachers with their queries about methodology of coaching gymnastics and different set ups for the lessons. Alternatively, should you wish to visit us to observe our qualified coaches at work, please give us a call and we will be happy to arrange this.

We have already held a Key Skills training day for Primary teachers and plan to hold further training days as requested.

The Meapa is the venue for the Schools Gymnastics Competition this Spring, so please ask for details so that your pupils are prepared and can enter.  Should you need help in delivering a lesson plan to teach the routines and criteria required, please do not hesitate to ask us for assistance.

The Meapa is keen to arrange ‘Taster’ sessions at Primary schools to introduce Gymnastics. This gives a fun, extra-curriculum activity for your school as well as allowing potentially talented children to be ‘spotted’ and invited to trial for a place in one of our squad groups.

We are always on the look out for new talent: We currently have in the gym - Kent and Regional champions, as well as members of the South East Squad. If teachers notice any children which seem to show an aptitude for gymnastics, please refer them to us….He or She may be the next future champion!

Meapa has a wide range of activities, including Gymnastic holiday camps, during the school holidays and would really appreciate help from schools to promote these activities to children. We would like help in distributing the flyers and booking forms if possible.

Special needs classes are available for a few individuals or whole classes and are extremely popular with both pupils and their teachers! Our coaches are qualified to teach children with specific disabilities.

The Meapa welcomes Secondary school pupils for work experience or voluntary work. This can count towards a Duke of Edinburgh award          and Step into Sport and we are able to set up Sports Leadership courses if required.  Pupils may wish to use our gym for their practical PE exam work and this can be arranged.

Please read the comments and references from schools, which have used or are using our services at the present time. You can find them at the bottom of this page in the attachments section.
