De Witte Tafel is a restaurant located in the same building as the Design Academy Eindhoven, and it is in fact a unique collaboration between a gastronomy school and a design school. The student-cooks learn the job in a real restaurant environment, and the design students can take care of the interior design. This student project was done in collaboration with Karin Van Der Zande, Maarten Adriaans en Jan (Jan, if you see this, mail me your last name because i forgot it, sorry!).

Our idea was to inject some color, humor and fun in the restaurant. We thought it would be nice to let the customer choose their own tableware when entering the restaurant. So we decided to collect as much colorful and diverse tableware as we could find, and we placed them on a whole bunch of small white tables, attached to the wall at the entrance.
It turned out fantastic, the people loved to all eat on different plates and drink out of different cups, and the visualization of the idea at the entrance gave the whole place a magical and poetical touch.
