MCPA AGM - 23 April 2012 April 14th The AGM will take place on Monday 23 April at 8pm in Redcliffs. We would welcome the attendance of all our members, so please email us (if you are interested in attending so we can give you the address. National League - Christchurch 24- 25 Mar 2012 March 20th This is Canoe Polo's premiere league and the first of three competitions to determine the nations top club teams. It takes place at Lake Roto Kohatu this weekend. Come along and see top NZ club teams battle it out for the title - teams from Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Auckland, Wellington, Otaki, Hawkes Bay and Palmerston North. There will also be a fundraising BBQ on Saturday night to support the National Team mens coach in attending the World Champs in Poland this year. South Island Champs 25-26 Feb 2012 February 24th South Island Champs take place at Lake Roto Kohatu THIS WEEKEND. Come along and see some great canoe polo action with teams from Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill and Palmerston North. Come along and support your local teams. Summer League - starting 22 February 2012 February 12th Summer League will start at the lake on Wednesday 22 February and will run for 7 weeks. It will run from approx 6pm to 8pm. Please register your team name or individual name by emailing

January 29th It is imperative that we are diligent about closing and locking the gate at the lake. At the end of sessions please check when you are leaving that someone leaving after you has a key.
Don't let other cars (non polo) follow you in - they end up locked in when you leave then pull the wooden poles to get out, which damage the fences. The ranger has advised he has let cars out who were let in by paddlers! He has also watched a polo paddler drive out over an area of down fence rather than the gate!!
We don't want to lose access to this facility, so please TAKE CARE to close the gate, put the pin back in the gate and lock the padlock.
South Island Champs 25-26 Feb 2012

South Island Champs take place at Lake RotoKohatu on 25 & 26 Feb. November 1st
Congratulations to The Wiggles who won the A/B Grade. Final score was 4 to 3 and was won in golden goal time.
Danger Mouse beat Scooby Do fairly soundly in the Premier Final.
Congratulations to everyone involved in Spring League.
Spring League FINALS - 1 November - BBQ
October 30th
The 1st of November is finals night for Spring League. Bring your support crews to cheer you on!
MCPA will be providing a simple BBQ with sausages and bread for all the players, so stay on after you games to socialise with other teams and watch the finals!

Spring League Update

Access and location
This is a council reserve off the end of Sawyers Arms Road which has two dedicated canoe polo pitches. Access right down to the lake requires a key but you can park pretty close and walk a short distance if you don't have a key.
This facility is available to anyone to use for canoe polo training as long as they comply with the Lake Roto Kohatu saftey mangement plan (see link on the left hand side of this page). If you have any questions please email:
