Paul Mcilwaine Music Page 

I started out in music back in the late seventies playing guitar and songwriting in several Northern Irish punk and power-pop bands.  I currently record and master music in my own home studio 'Wonderland Studio'. I write and record original music for radio, TV and film as well as licensed music publishing. My first passion is guitar music especially blues, acoustic, nu jazz and gospel. I am currently published by Rockstarmedia and Plankton Records.





Brief Biography

I played guitar in seventies new wave bands The Detonators and the The Tearjerkers  both based in Belfast in Northern Ireland. In the eighties I formed Etc Etc and played jazz in Blue Rhythm and the Bob Dawson Big band.

In late eighties when I regularly played Gospel music in church . From the mid eighties my musical collaborator Howard Ingram and I recorded new original material both together and as solo projects.

In 2006 I set up a small home studio 'Wonderland' and I distribute my music digitally via Soundclick, Myspace, Reverbnation, Soundcloud and Last FM .

News

January 2012

January 2012 sees the release of a brand new collection of blues inspired tunes called 'Blue Again' - This is currently available from www.soundclick.com/paulmcilwaine - The album features a mix of instrumentals and a couple of songs with Belfast's own Liz Clarke.    



January 2011

I have collected some of my favourite tracks together in a new 'best of' collection for 2011 which is now available to download from itunes in USA, Japan, UK etc. Entitled NU Blues it has a jazzy Bluesy feel  with a couple of acoustic guitar track thrown in for good measure. At 13 tracks you'll be getting good value for money too.

Sept 2010

I have released my latest collection of songs exclusively onwww.soundclick.com/paulmcilwaine and and streaming at www.grooveshark.com This collection features thirteen new acoustic  guitar tracks recorded over the period 2009 to 2010 and also features guest performances from Zimbabwe percussionist Wilson Magwere and Belfast's Liz Clarke. The music in this album spans a number of genre's from Indian raga, blues, traditional Celtic to chill out and ambient tracks.
