Welcome to the Massena Central High School Tech Prep Program!

Tech Prep was an innovation in the education reform movement in the United States.  Proposed in the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Education Act of 1990 and amended in the School of Work Opportunities Act of 1994.  Tech Prep is a very important school-to-work transition strategy, which is helping students make the connections between school and employment.

Massena's program is designed to help secondary students gain the academic knowledge and technical skills necessary to gain access to higher education, advanced postsecondary training, or high skilled employment. During the program, Massena juniors and seniors enroll in specialized math, technology, and English classes that work with local businesses to solve business-related problems as a part of their coursework. After completion of the Massena Central High School program, students often earn college-level credit for their coursework through Paul Smiths College in Paul Smiths, NY.
