McFarland's Messages
Week of November 16, 2009

Class News This week we will concentrate on the letter and sounds of "p" . We will be continue working on the proper formation on letters and numbers, and we will begin blending sounds into words. We are working on the phonograms that are made up of more than one letter. This week we will learn about /ea/ and /er/.We will also spend time hearing sylables and compound words. We will learn about describing words,.In Math we will be working with patterns we will try to make ABC patterns, and we are learning about addition, time, and money. In Science we finished our Science Fair Project. It will be displayed during the school wide Science Fair in December. We will spend this week learning about dental health. In Social Studies we will learn about the Pilgrims.

- Upcoming Dates
- November 23rd and 24th at 2:00 P.M. each class will be having a Handful Feast. All parents, grandparents, and siblings are invited to attend. More information will be coming over thenext two weeks. The room mothers will be calling to ask for help with this event. We will need some parents to help on those days and a couple parents to help from home prior to the dates.
- Thanksgiving break - November 25-27
- The November calendar is up by the classroom door for parents to sign up to help in the classroom.
- Don't forget to send snacks with your child even if they are having hot lunch.
- Please remember to send jackets as the days get cooler. The school policy is that we go outside at any temperature over 25 degrees.
