Welcome to the home of the
McClelland Jumping Beans!
We are beginning the jump rope team on Wednesday October 20th. We meet in the morning at 7:30 and end around 8:10. Children in grades 1-5 are invited to join us for fun, learning, team building, and exercise.
Jumpers will learn how to do basic, intermediate and advanced jumps for single rope, partner, groups, and double dutch. Advanced skills may include gymnastic stunts. We will practice skills and develop routines.
The children will be required to use a licorice style (speed) jump rope. I have these available to buy for $3.00 each. The children may buy them at our first meeting. These ropes are designed for performing jump rope tricks. I will also be sending home information about T-shirts that will be available for purchase. The children will need shirts if they plan on attending the optional competition in June.
I request that jumpers NOT arrive BEFORE the 7:30 starting time. Please have your child wait in the car or the foyer WITH YOU until you see the orange bean on the gym door. The bean shows you that one of the coaches is there and the children may come in. We have had many problems with this and I am worried that a child will get hurt playing unsupervised in the parking lot. Remember the coaches are all volunteers so please do not give them a hard time if they are a few minutes late one morning. They are trying their best to provide this club for the children, but they also have families of their own.
If your child is joining our team, please sign a permission slip (available on this web site) and have your child return them to their homeroom teacher by Friday, October 15th. Parents if you would like to come and jump with your child, you are more than welcome to join us.
If you have any questions regarding the McClelland Jumping Beans, please feel free to contact me at 332-2180 (school) or via my email- fortier.d@rochesterschools.com.

We'll see you at practice!
