Digital Collection

The Digital Media Catalog (OverDrive) provides eBooks for free download to your computer or other devices. Click here to access and search OverDrive, then click the Juvenile Fiction link. You will find a Quick Start Guide, download assistance and a list of supported eBook devices on the OverDrive site.

Computers and WiFi
There are 7 public computers with internet access on the third floor of the library. Computer sessions last either 30 or 60 minutes depending on the computer, but if no one is waiting you're welcome to renew your session. If you need to work on documents, bring a flash drive with you to save your files. You can borrow headphones from the Reference Desk. The library also provides free wireless internet access, so you can work on your laptop.

Reference Services
In addition to print reference materials, we provide two web portals through the Minuteman Library Network--KidsWeb and TeenLink. You can also access a number of reference databases, including those listed below. Find out more about each database by clicking here.
  • Kids InfoBits (K-5)
  • Junior Edition (Junior High/Middle School)
  • Student Edition (High School)
  • Student Resources in Context (Middle School/High School)
Museum Passes
Thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Library, we offer Museum passes allowing free or discounted admission to local attractions, including the Discovery Museums in Acton, Drumlin Farm in Lincoln and the Children's Museum and the Museum of Science in Boston.  A list of passes is available here or at the Circulation Desk. Passes can be reserved in person or by calling the library (x100).

Programs
Regular school year programs include:
  • Bedtime Story Time on (most) Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. Come in PJs to hear a story and have a bedtime snack. For ages 3 and up.
  • Toy Time on (most) Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Come and play with Mr. Mark's collection of toys! For ages 1 to 4.
Every summer, we have the Read-a-Thon, the Summer Reading Program (with fabulous prizes just for reading) and of course, Truck Day.

In addition, there are regular educational and cultural programs throughout the year. In the past few years, the library has sponsored African drumming, several dance and ballet performances, animal visits with naturalists, storytellers, magicians, and authors Lois Lowry and Jeff Kinney. Check at the Children's Desk or the calendar of events for the latest updates.
