Reading-Mania Marathon!

Children can pick up pledge sheets with Mr. Mark at the Children's Desk. They should seek pledges for every page they read on marathon day by collecting the money in advance or after the Read-a-thon. The money raised will help support programs for kids at the library.

The marathon will take place on Thursday June 21st from 10am-1pm (rain or shine) with free pizza- fresh and hot!

The library is also in search of volunteers to help at the Read-a-thon. For more information, please call Lynda Thayer at 978-897-1958 or Mr. Mark at 978-897-1010 x106.

Maynard Historic Walk Brochures

Peg Brown and the Maynard Historical Commission have created a series of walking tours of Maynard. You can choose from Assabet Village, Downtown and the Mill, New Village and Maynard's Hill, Great Road, or Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge.

Brochures with maps and historical information on each site can be found at the library, either by the bulletin board on the first level or at the Reference Desk on the second level.

Each walk is about 2 miles (except Assabet River which has many varying trails). This is a great opportunity to learn more of Maynard's history! More information on the tours, including printable maps can be found here:
