I work on large scale information retrieval and data mining systems.
- Search, type-ahead query completion - latency, scalability, quality.
- Text and graph mining - MapReduce (Hadoop) algorithms.
- Large scale machine learning, recommendation systems.
I received PhD from the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Technion, under the supervision of Ziv Bar-Yossef and Idit Keidar. My research focused on:
- Sampling and estimation techniques on search engine indices and query logs, using only externally accessible public interfaces. Achieving provable quality guarantees while using minimal resources.
- Ensuring reliability of distributed protocols in fault-prone environments.
