Hi everyone! In case you haven't figured it out, my name is Meagan, and this is my page for MWDesigns. First, I'll start with a little "about me." I'm 17 years old and a Junior in High School. I've been playing softball for 11 years, and I also play volleyball. I've always had a thing for art, and I love design. I'm hoping to pursue a career in the International world in either business or relations. I'm a total tree hugger, and I try to recycle everything I own. And that's how I came up with my products.
It's kind of funny, I really don't know any type of shorter name to describe the things that I make. All I'm able to come up with is "Items made from Recycled Plastic Bags." It doesn't really roll off the tongue, but it's really the only way I can describe it. Let me put it to you simply:
I pretty much sit in front of my iron and ironing board for hours at a time, and with wax paper and some scissors. I iron the plastic into layers until it fuses together into a more thick material. I then proceed to cut and shape the plastic and pin it together. And from that, I pretty much just go to my sewing machine and sew to my hearts content, producing the bags the way I want them to look. I hand sew buttons onto certain products, and add my own little details. At the present time, I make 5 different products regularly. I make three different sized smaller clutch style bags, one sized perfect for store cards and gift cards, a medium size for coupons and other items, and a larger size for anything from makeup to pencils. I make wine bags, which are perfect for gift giving. Lastly, I regularly make purses. Also recently, I've started a new collection of bags made from the scraps of the aforementioned. It's just another way of recycling even more! And, of course, I do take custom orders and can make products in any size that you please. I've even already made large tote bags.
