Happy 25th Birthday Mama Maputo! I had a Hash in Africa………… a long long time ago - when Chuck Spears was young and trendy – a Hash was born in Africa! The Hash was founded by strange men with baggy shorts and funny names like “Rear View” and “Member Without”, and they used to run around on Saturdays and drink beer and burp and f*rt – just like hashers do today! And the new Hash was called Maputo H3. Many years passed, and Maputo Hash grew up and had a baby, and behold, hashers began to run around on Sundays and burp and f*rt just like Mommy Maputo – - although their shorts were not so baggy. And the Baby Hash was called Matola H3. MANIGUE more years passed and Matola Hash grew up and began to have 2M weekends away in little huts in the bush with its mother and………………. but that is another story.
Matola Hash is proud to celebrate Mommy’s birthday with a special “Out of Africa” theme hash on Sunday 25th March, turning Mommy’s birthday into the first ever a 2M weekend at home!
Love from Matola Hash

The Spice Island Hash Cruise is only 2
months away - you should be getting a few things together by now; checking your
old hash shoes haven't fallen apart, and your passport still has pages!! WF has
provided us with some general information that Wildcats normally sends to
tourists visiting Kenya and Tanzania. Its standard stuff with one or two small
additions regarding hash perspective and its all in the attached pdf file. OK
so its dull non-hash stuff but please read it anyway.
We still have room on the Cruise, but we are getting a rush of new bookings
over the last few weeks. If you know of anyone who still has to make up their
mind its time to give them a kick where it hurts to get on with it or they may
literally miss the boat!
Quite a few people have been asking me about the start of the Cruise programme.
To avoid any doubt - the Cruise will leave from the White Sands Hotel at 9 am
sharp on the 14th May, this is the official start time, and you should try to
be there at least half an hour earlier. Registration will begin on the 13th at
5 pm in the White Sands lounge, and will continue until 8.45 on the 14th. If
for any reason you think that you might not be there on time, fully packed and
ready to go, let me know urgently and I will see what we can do, but I can't
guarantee that we will pick you up anywhere except White Sands..
Enough of the boring stuff, we are planning a lot of hashing and fun each day
of the cruise and I will send all the detailed daily programme in my next flyer.

If you have read the information posted earlier on this
site you will know that the shipowners let us down a few months ago and
took the cruise ship out of service, so we promised to do an equivalent
pre-lube around the East African Spice Islands using other transport.
Attached in a pdf file is what we have put together, and
its good! Its based on the same period and the same islands as the
original cruise, only we will use luxury ferries and hotels instead of
the cruise ship. It leaves Dar es Salaam on May 14th 2012 and arrives in
Mombasa in time for the Migration Hash Red dress run on May 17th. Our
Hash tour operator is offering a hash safaria from Mombasa to Dar es
Salaam timed to arrive for the start of the Spice Island tour, so if you
plan to fly in and out of Mombasa this is an option.
Current prices to join the 4 day 3 night pre-lube,
according to the quality of hotel room, are: $1100 for superior, $1350
deluxe and $1600 for suite. Price includes everything except visas for
Tanzania and Kenya. Please read the attached file, look at the pictures,
which are all taken near to the places we will visit and hash, and then
respond to me if you are still interested. We still have room, but
space is not unlimited, so please don't wait too long.

Well, you can help! We are promoting the Matola Hash to the world. You can help by printing the flyer and spreading the word around the world. The miss management is thinking of creative new ways to get new, formally non-hashers on board. Even the slim, trim & fast ones! Imagien that! Real runners on the hash.... what would they do?
