Wishing you all a a HASHY NEW YEAR Matola H3 Mis-management The final event of 2012 was the Matola H3 annual Christmas hash party. We had over 50 hashers for a fantastic run, lunch and party on the Matola River. Whats On in 2012? You still do not know what you are going to do with your life? Well, see the news section then.... Next event - 3rd Live Hare Run on the 15th January. There is already a lot of interest in this, and a queue of volunteers to become Matola Live Hares. To add to the excitement, Hash horns will be given to front runners. Matola Live Hares Club All you need to know about how the Matola Live Hare Club live runs work is set out in the attached files in Portuguese and English. The first run was hailed a great success by both walkers and runners, and the Hares themselves, Evel Knevel and Piska Piska, who became the first to members of this exclusive club. When live runs are properly done, (which is the object of the club), they are superb fun for both walkers and runners, and put a whole new life into hashing. Remember that Live runs start a bit earlier than other Matola hashes, leaving on time, at 9.30 am from the designated location, instead of the "more or less" 12.30 pm start for ordinary Matola hashes. They also cost less, with run fee set at Mts 40 for everyone, but after your first drink you pay as you go (at Baraca prices). When a Live Hare Club run and a normal Matola Hash are combined, the above times and price arrangements still apply, but the walker's trail will be set in the traditional way. If you haven't experienced the Matola Live Hare Club yet you haven't lived! Read all about it in the attachment, but the best way to find out is to be there and see and hear the excitement build up as the hounds close in as the hapless hares, Long Legs and Echo run for their lives to become the next two Club members!! You will be able to participate in the live run or the normal hash as you wish, the fun is for everyone!
