Make sure you do the following before you leave! - Write down all your ATM card, credit card, etc., numbers, and make two copies, one to leave at home and one to bring with you. On the back of the cards there will be emergency numbers to call (including the International number which you can call collect when in Italy). Write these down also so that you or someone can call and quickly deactivate the cards if necessary.
- Write down your passport number. (An easy solution is to just put all your cards and passport on a copy machine, and copy both sides.)
- Write down all important phone numbers (family members).
- Make two copies of the above, one to leave at home and one to bring with you.
- The copy that you bring with you should be kept in a safe place, separate from your wallet, just in case you lose your wallet.
- Set aside a little emergency money to bring with you, also to be stashed away separate from your wallet.
