Ladder Problems on Locus

Just click on each question of locus and you can see animation for that problem
  • Locus of mid-point of the ladder
  • Point P on ladder AB (where A is point of contact with floor and B with the wall). Length of the ladder is constant L. Point P divides AB in the ratio 2:3. Find the locus of point P
  • AB is a ladder of length L sliding over the floor. Find the locus of point M such that M is the foot of perpendicular dropped from point P such that OAPB is a rectangle.

  • With the ladder AB sliding and at the midpoint M of the ladder we have a small rod MP of length l perpendicular to the ladder. Find the locus of the point P (the tip of the small rod of length l)
  • Find the locus of the point C where ABCD is a square on the side (with respect to the ladder) not containing the origin.
