Helen's birth class was comforting, informative and added warmth to the excitement of our arriving baby. I felt much better prepared for the process of birth and was better aware of the options available during that process.
My husband really enjoyed the sessions as well, and I think the role playing and support team preparedness was key to getting the loving care that was evident in the delivery room. Helen adds motherly nurturing to an exciting preparation for parenthood.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekly childbirth classes with Helen. Not only did we have the convenience of having her come to our home, but she always came well-prepared and with a smile on her face. It is obvious that the process of childbirth is something that Helen is passionate about and that certainly comes through in her teaching. She is very enthusiastic as well as very knowledgeable about the subject matter. Both my husband and I felt very prepared not only for the birth of our first son, but what to expect during those first few weeks at home. Classes with her are definitely worth it!!

I had the privilege of having Helen as my Doula for the birth of my first son, Trevor. I know my experience would not have been as smooth, relaxed or calm had it not been for her. She was right by my side supporting me with whatever my need was at the time, whether physical or emotional.

She has a way of combining the qualities of quiet strength and a soothing touch that seems to be just right. I would highly recommend Helen as a Doula for anyone expecting a child. She would truly enhance the beautiful process of bringing a baby into this world.

"Thank you Helen for the invaluable help you gave us during our birthing class. Our daughter's birth was one of the most stressful moments in our lives, however it was manageable due to the advice and lessons we learned from you. You helped us by letting us know what we should expect and we drew on this as if it were instinct. You truly care, not only for the new life that was coming, but also for the health and safety for the parents to be."

I had an amazing experience with Helen as my doula and birth class instructor. She was so informative and helpful. I liked that our classes were in the comfort of my own home. It was also very convenient that way. My boyfriend and I felt so at ease with Helen and she really made it easy for us to be able to talk with her about any of the questions or concerns we had.
When I was in labor Helen was such a supportive coach. She was right there when I needed her and gave me my space when I needed it. In our classes we had discussed a birth plan ans so I felt confident in the hospital with Helen as my advocate. I definitely recommend Helen as a doula and as a birth class instructor.

Doula service
There is something remarkable about this one: someone who can successfully coach you through the most physically challenging process of your life in a room full of commotion and noise without
ever raising her voice. Helen reminded me to visualize a wave flowing in and out and that is exactly what her voice sounds like. Soothing, encouraging, powerful. My husband was on my left, Helen on my right and we both agree, having her there at the birth was awesome. Even when I had a conflict with the doctor who wanted to push a procedure I didn't think I needed, Helen was strong and steady. She encouraged me to be strong and reminded me that it was my choice and I didn't need to feel pressured. She laughed with us and cried with us and at the end of the day (11:30 P.M. to be exact) our little guy came out and saw his daddy and mommy and new "auntie" Helen. I am so glad she was there.

Regarding Birthing classes
Helen was our teacher, our wonderful Childbirth Educator. We really thought we knew enough. Oh, we were so wrong. My husband and I were very reluctant sign up for birthing classes or Lamaze because, simply, we heard it was a waste of time... I am sure that can be very true, but it completely depends on who is teaching you and if the information is tailored to your needs. As a first time Mom, I did think the education would be worth the time invested but I had no idea how much I was really going to learn. Helen goes way above and beyond to deliver everything from practical tips (like how to breastfeed) to life saving information (like what to do if...). I had a scare near the end of my pregnancy where one ultrasound technician told me my baby was breach. Helen was right there for me, gave me information to read, techniques to apply and calmed me down tremendously with her positive attitude. I had a healthy baby boy, with a normal (head-first) delivery.

I learned a hundred times more from our six birthing classes we had with Helen than all of my doctor's visits, ultrasounds appointments, and "unsolicited advice" combined. Bottom line, I very felt prepared for a very unknown situation, childbirth. For husbands, Helen's classes would be the only way to go. She uses props, diagrams, illustrations and simple explanations. Bottom line, she held the attention of my husband throughout every class until the very end. We both graduated. :)

Having Helen as my doula was vital to the successful outcome of both my birthing experiences. I had one of my children in the hospital and the other at home. To have a woman who is educated about birth, and specifically there to emotionally support me and help carry out my wishes was of the upmost comfort to me and my husband. I highly recommend Helen and ALL of her services to any pregnant woman out there.

Infant Massage

Even though my baby can’t use words yet, she communicates with her face, body & voice. Infant Massage taught me to read her expressions. It helped me bond so much quicker because I learned all her little quirks and could understand her needs and respond to them. This was especially valuable as a parent of more than one child with less available time. I recommend these classes to all parents.

Four years ago my first son, Michael was born and we took Helen’s Infant Massage class when he was about 4 months. I am so glad that we did, because I learned some of the most valuable techniques for soothing and bonding with my baby. Being a new mom I was still so new at the whole baby thing, I wasn’t sure how to understand my new little guy yet, but this class really helped me to read him better. We started our routine of massages after bath time to settle him down for bed. I quickly learned which ones Michael preferred, I could even calm him down during the day with just one particular leg massage. When my second son Christopher was born I used the same techniques with him, but I quickly realized he had different favorites. Having my second son when Michael was two made it very challenging for me to create bonding time with each of them. I consider Infant Massage so important in bringing me closer to my kids because it was an activity that not only relaxed them, it was something that was one on one where we could communicate with each other. It created special bonding moments with my second son Christopher that weren’t as easy to come by as when I had just one baby, and I could continue my routine with Michael so that he wouldn’t feel left out. My sons are now 2 and 4 and we still have our special bonding time before bed, I recommend this class to every mom.
