June 4 Week 7 This week we are still focusing on 3x + 4x tables, getting used to hearing the product numbers 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36;4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48. ***cross country*** The class is buzzing, they are all working busily. We are learning to write opinions - should we have Wheels Day every Friday? Should we get pocket money? Should we bring toys to school? The focus is on writing reasons! Mmm interesting. Keep reading daily - we get better at reading by reading.
Remember library books on Tuesdays.
If you are concerned about your child's spelling ability, I have a page with good tips on it - just ask. BUT...
I find the best idea is this.
Highlight the part your child is having trouble with. eg
ground they know gr and nd
so only need to learn the middle. Take a "photo" of it at eye level or above, repeat it aloud then write it. Have success.
| ** Star for week 6: **

REMEMBER house colours for our cross country run on Wednesday + running shoes. *Spelling lists*
we are focussing on or sounds in words this week. - for, four, bought, saw, poor, more, caught - so many different patterns, very tricky Duty & Consideration
are the values this term.
It's really important to keep practising basic facts at every opportunity. They are the basis of all our numeracy work - those that practise often are the ones who grasp the strategies promptly. They have a stronger sense of number.
Term Two - multiplication - times tables!
Thanks for 'finding' sports shoes for our cross country running. They are loving their daily runs. Keep practising at home! |
