Cocktail cantus (Wednesday 11 May)

Wednesday 11 May (starting from 8:30pm), a cocktail cantus is going to be held.

Where? DE RECTOR (cantusroom 2nd floor), OUDE MARKT, 3000 Leuven

There is only room for about 30 people.
For subscription: M-I-M members enjoy priority over non-M-I-M members.

"Get ready for a fun evening of singing, laughing and drinking !!!"

The cantus is a student activity which involves the singing of (traditional) songs while drinking. Certain rules apply at the cantus, which will be given later.
The cantus is being led by the senior. He will be responsible for keeping order at the cantus and will be aided by the cantor (Latin for 'singer'). The rest of the attending people are called the 'corona' (Latin for 'circle'). If anyone breaks a rule, he or she will be punished in a fun way by the, what we will call, punitor (Latin for 'punisher').

International dinner (Monday 2 May)

Monday 2 May (starting from 6:00pm), an international dinner is going to be held.

Where? PANGAEA, Vesaliusstraat 34, 3000 Leuven

Share with us some traditional food from your country (doesn't need to be much but just for everybody TO TASTE)

1. Cooking stuff in the Pangaea kitchen: NO oven!!! (if really necessary we'll need to ask friends who live close to Pangaea)
Microwave oven; cooker.

2. There are no pans and pots, so you better prepare your meal at your place and fry it or warm it up with the cooker or microwave in Pangaea!

3. Bring your OWN KNIFE, FORK and SPOON

Presentation Umicore (Tuesday 26 April)

Tuesday 26 April, there will be a presentation of Umicore.

When?   5:00pm - 6:00pm

Where?  Centre for Industrial Management (next to the Arenberg campus library) Room 04.43 (4th floor)

There will be drinks of course.

Workshop IBM (Thursday 17 March)

You propably all know IBM, which is engaged in "building a smarter planet" by being active in virtually every industry (oil, banking, energy, communications, electronics, healthcare, transportation...) and collaborating with over 600 organizations worldwide. To learn more about IBM, visit ibm.com.

In this workshop, IBM wants to give some additional information on their company, and most importantly, there will be a challenge which you have to deal with in small groups. In total, this would take about 1.5 - 2 hours.

This will be a very interesting opportunity for you to get in contact with this international company, which provides plenty of job opportunities for Belgian as well as for international students, and learn some more about their way of working. Furthermore, you might find it interesting to see how well you perform in this small challenge, which can be a good preparation for a future job application at any company. To make sure everyone will enjoy the event, we will reward you with some refreshing drinks and some small bites during a potentially interesting discussion afterwards.

Disco ice skating: Friday 3 December

Have you ever Disco ice skated?? If yes, you know how much fun it is and you definitely want to do it again! If no, this is your chance to enjoy it! Because ... Friday 3th of December, M-I-M goes Disco ice skating!

    * Time: 19h30 till 22h00
    * Place: Ijsbaan Leuven (More info about the place: http://www.ijsbaanleuven.be/ijsbaanleuven/index.php)
    * M-I-M member price: €5.5 (entrance and skates)

We will use public transport to go to the ice rink:
    * Meeting place: Train station of Leuven
    * Meeting time: 19h00

Because we have to book in advance to go ice skating, we ask you to pay in advance. Payment deadline: Thursday 2th December 10h30! You can pay to Guru, Yannick or Simon.

Leftover-cocktail-get-together: Wednesday 10 November

We will do some games and drink cocktails at very cheap price (around € 1 per cocktail).

Location: Coke Room, above De Rector, starting from 20h30.
