MASA (Mid Atlantic Squash Association)

MASA started up in the 1991-92 season, being an attempt to create a bigger association of local school squash teams than the Inter-Ac provided.

The original MASA members were Episcopal Academy, Haverford School, Chestnut Hill Academy, Penn Charter, Lawrenceville, Shipley and The Hill School.

Later on, Gemantown Friends School, Malvern Prep, Harriton / Lower Merion and Conestoga were added.
The SquashSmarts team is currently undergoing a trial period.

MASA attempts to coordinate and build interscholastic squash, emphasizing individual and team sportsmanship. The Association currently includes 11 boys  and 9 ?? girls schools.

MASA is divided into two groups: the 'Keystone' group, which is mainly made up of Inter-Ac schools (plus Lawrenceville), and the 'Independent' group. 'Intra-league' teams must play each other twice during the school season. Inter-league matches are encouraged once per season and the venue alternated annually.

MASA holds a team tournament each year, to determine the MASA championship team. This is based purely on points gained by team players by advancing to the following rounds. Eight players are grouped into four sections; the # 1s & 2s are grouped into the 'A' Section, #s 3 & 4 into the 'B' Section, etc.
