My friend Sybil made these great chalkboard signs to alert people of what direction to go to for their preferred food. We had several vegetarians, including myself, as well as meat eaters. To accomodate the diverse tastes, we served pulled chicken, pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, and rolls from Red Hot & Blue (a local barbecue restaurant) and asian tofu salad, a green salad, pesto pasta salad, and tomato and mozzarella salad from Whole Foods. The food (including cocktail hour munchies, the cake and beverages) was delicious and under $2,000 for 60 people.

The buffet.

Close-up of the food. The plates were bamboo disposable.
