Vendor Reviews

St. Mary’s Church Franklin, MA (ceremony) B: (am I going to go to hell for giving a church a B?)
The church coordinator was a little crazy, and ended up sending my father and I down the aisle, when my FI/DH was not at the alter.  Subsequently my husband missed me walking down the aisle!

Café Nuovo Providence, RI (reception) A+ :Not only was the food amazing, but the service was outstanding.  Out of 58 people, no one received a wrong order or a bad meal.  It was our mission to have a restaurant that would offer our guests the entire menu and have an impressive ambiance; Café Nuovo was a huge success!  Dimitri and Sean were so helpful, too.

Diane Patenaude (ceremony harpist) A:  Diane was great.  I was in the back of the church listening to the music before the ceremony started and it was beautiful!

Sandra Martineau (ceremony violinist) A: Mrs. Martineau was excellent.  As I said above, I was in the back of the church listening to the music before the ceremony started and it was beautiful!  Mrs. Martineau is a family friend, but performs professionally for weddings all the time, we’re so lucky to have had her play!

Patrick Durkin (reception pianist) A+:  Patrick was recommended by my sister and brother in law for background music for the reception, since we were doing a dinner reception and it was the best decision that I made!  He had such a huge play list!  He even learned our song (we weren’t doing dancing) just for our wedding, which caused my husband to get up in front of everyone and dance with me!!  I totally recommend Patrick!

Jeff Newcum (photographer) A+:  I have posted the “teasers” in my bio, and so far the pictures are fabulous!!  I can’t wait to see all the pictures!  Jeff was great and never intrusive, which can be tough when you have such a small wedding.  So far, I am so happy with the quality of the pictures.

Folio Publishing Services (videographer) A: Pending Video- Walter and Audrey were very accommodating with any questions that I had, and attended the rehearsal (free of charge) to ask the church coordinator questions so there would be no confusions the day of the wedding.  Both Walter and Audrey were very pleasant and not at all intrusive during the wedding.

RCH Designs (florist/linens) B-:  I had an overall good experience with Rachel from RCH Designs, but I still had to give her a B- because there were several items that I had discussed with her that were not carried out correctly on my wedding day:
1. I requested cream colored roses for the fathers/grandfathers and she could not provide them because she doesn’t carry any inventory and the floral wholesaler’s cream roses “didn’t look good”, so she used red instead.
2. I requested a special type of rose, which she couldn’t get.  So we had discussed over email several times that if she couldn’t get those special roses to only use red for the centerpieces.  However there were different colored roses in my centerpieces.
3. She was to provide floor length table linens, but they were not floor length
4. The corsages for the mothers/grandmothers looked slightly wilted
5. I requested hypericum berries, and it turns out there are two colors (green and red).  Well, I had shown Rachel pictures of red berries, but the berries at my wedding were green.
6. I had shown Rachel several pictures of the type of pew bows that I wanted, but the pew bows looked completely different
All the flowers looked great, everyone enjoyed themselves, and nothing was ruined, but I was a little upset that so many things that we had discussed over countless emails were wrong.  But overall, everything came together and Rachel gave me the best prices that I could find.

The Big Apple Farm (caramel apple favors) A:  Price was great and the whole process was very easy.  The farm wrapped the apples in cellophane and tied the bows for me.  My only problem was that towards the end of the night, the heat caused the apples to get a little melty, but nothing an hour in the refrigerator couldn’t fix!  They were delicious!

www.doingpersonalfavors.com (candy wrapper labels) B+:   Nothing wrong with the labels, they fit perfectly on the candies and everyone loved them.  However, I should have just done them myself.  All they were address labels with the text changed to vertical-very easy DIY!  But, they were shipped quickly and reasonable.

Ann Marie Kett (make-up) A+:  I have nothing but raves for Ann Marie!  She was so thorough and detailed!  She did such a lovely job!  My make-up
was flawless!  Highly recommend her!

Gina Joubert (hair) A+: I know many knotties use her, but she was excellent!!!!  I never did a trial, I didn’t have any pictures, but she knew exactly what to do with my hair.  And it came out beautiful!!!  That was the first thing that my husband said to me after we got married!

Cici Bridal- Etsy.com (veil) A-:  I wanted a very simple veil, so this may not be for everyone, but the veil was exactly what I wanted!  It was only $20, custom made,  and it shipped out within a week!

Brushstrokes Studio (signature platter) A: I loved the platter idea and it came out great!!  Amy from the studio did a custom design, and the first platter that we received wasn’t exactly great.  But after one email, Amy did another plate and it was perfect!  Everyone loved it too!

Silver Line Limo (limo) B: We chose them because they were a family friend, but their prices are on the high side.  It was pouring out and the driver didn’t have an umbrella, so that was a rocky start.  But all in all they got us where we needed to go without a problem.

Radisson Providence Airport (wedding night hotel) A:   Even though we only stayed in the hotel a total of 4 hours, it was great.  When I called ahead to confirm the reservation I let it slide that it was our wedding night, so they upgraded us to a suite.

Beach Bum Vacations (travel agent) A+: Robert was AWESOME.  He was so accommodating with ALL of our many questions and his recommendations were great!  We went to Disney World for 4 days, then Aruba for 10 days.   Robert recommended the Grand Floridian (which was AMAZING) and the Bucuti resort in Aruba.  The Bucuti resort was absolutely perfect!  Couples only and it’s right on the beach!  We had the Tara penthouse suite and it was LOVELY!
