COMING, APHRODITE! is a love story about a man, a woman, and a dog that explores the pursuit of art and the nature of success. Painter, Don Hedger and his dog, Caesar, live in a one-room apartment. Their daily life is upended when Eden Bower, an aspiring actress who likes to sing show tunes and exercise in the nude, moves in next door.

Coming, Aphrodite!, based on the novella by Willa Cather, is written and directed by Mary Fulham, with music by Mark Ettinger, lyrics by Paul Foglino; choreograpjy by Heidi Latksy; costumes by Ramona Ponce; set by Jim Boutin; sound design by Tim Schellenbaum; Puppetry by Spica Wobbe. Huge thanks to Mike Riggs and everyone who worked so hard to make this production so beautiful!

Three Innovative Theater Award Nominations!

Trophy Wife, Mary Fulham’s new musical based on Chekhov’s, “Anna on the Neck” played to packed houses for two weeks at La MaMa in April 2007 and got three IT (Innovative Theater) Award Nominations. Terry Waldo and Paul Foglino for Best Score; Heidi Latsky for Best Choreography; and Ramona Ponce for Best Costumes! Selected from more than 40,000 artists working Off Off Broadway (OMG! – no wonder there’s no grant money), this is the second year straight that a Watson Arts Project got nominated. Balletto Stiletto got the 2006 nom for Best Performance Art Production.

Teatro Del Carretto In American Debut

The legendary Italian company performed Pinocchio and Biancaneve, two of its most important works, January 10 - 27, 2008 at La MaMa E.T.C. The critics raved!“…A unique and somehow familiar dream world of great intensity and beauty!–Backstage "...Their Pinocchio is physical theatre at its finest–alternately hilarious and horrifying with an ensemble that is so in tune and energetic as to leave you breathless." -NYTheatre.com

THANK YOU!  We wish to thank all of our supporters and theatrical colleagues who make this work possible, particularly the Watson Arts Benefit Committee, Ellen Stewart and all the staff at La Mama E.T.C.!
