Hello World :-)
This is my first outbreak into the world of homepage/blogging... and, thanks to the wonderful world of google, it doesn't look too bad :-)
You never know, at some stage, I may even get something interesting on here ;-)
For those of you who are interested (and those who aren't) Linwe means "Mary" in a slightly obscure language... elvish... but I would also like to add a disclaimer to try and distance myself from the fact of knowing my name in elvish by stating that its not my fault... My younger brother, a great LOTR fan, was trawling the internet around the time when the Fellowship was released, and found a site that translated names into elvish...so of course we all did... and my name was actually rememerable :-) (so...I remembered it...) Which is actually quite good, and has a myraid of uses. Its more exciting than mary_grace(random string of numbers)@hotmail.com, is fun for ebay, creative for imdb and, of course, perfect for google webpages :-). If you too would like one of these wonderful accesories, just follow this link: http://www.chriswetherell.com/elf/
This comes with the standard disclaimer, I don't actually know the quality of the translation, or if it is just a random string of letters thrown together... but its still fun :-)
As may be guessed from even remembering my name in elvish, I am a fan of The Lord of the Rings :) My other favorite books are from an entirely different genre, and are written by P.G. Wodehouse. An excellent author!! Who should be read by everyone. As you are now undoubtdely convinced by the force of my argument, I will provide a link where you can read all about Bertie and Jeeves (two main characters) online: Right Ho, Jeeves. This comes with no disclaimer ;) I'm happy to stand fully behind it, and give a money back gaurntee ;) Books, are fun, but I feel that I would be abandoning my public heartlessly if I did not warn you of some of the potential pitfalls...Avoid Australian Literature Like the Plague!! Actually, if you are given the choice of the plague or Australian literature do not jump to any rash decisions, and think that Aus lit is the easy way out... weigh you decision carefully, consider all the pros and cons. True, the plague may kill you, but what does Aus lit do to you? The effects are much worse... the psychological damage and tramua associated with the reading are horrific. In worse case scenarios, people have been left weak, staring blankly into space, starting at sudden noises, and waking up at night screaming "No, I won't read anymore!! Don't make me!! I don't care if I pass my course!!" (...would you believe...). Actually, its not all that bad, there are one or two authors out there that are passable, some even good, Banjo Patterson for example, but sadly, they make up a minority. Come on Australia!! We are good at everything else, let us write well! Put off killing people in the book to at least chapter two! Lets be upbeat! Write a Happy book!! :-)
Well, anyway, here is a start at something, which will hopefully evolve, ...into something
Alternatley, I will completly forget about it, and it will be just another webpage floating around unloved and unviewed in cyberspace...
