History: The Marshall County Behavioral Health Task Force was initiated by action of the Marshall County Board of Health to provide needed follow-up for two research projects conducted by Peoria County Health Department graduate students circa 2006 and 2008. A Marshall County Board of Health appointed member maintains 'coordinative' role as facilitator of the Task Force and reports on activity directly to the Marshall County Board of Health. The Task Force has been in formation and active in sponsoring community activies related to mental wellness issues since 2008. Activities include:
Organization: The Marshall County Behavioral Health Task Force conducts community meetings, trainings and small group networking throughout a broad based citizen network let by a volunteer facilitator with collaboration of mental health related service providers engaged in activities within Marshall County. A Leadership Committee has been established with all meetings open to the public of involved service provider agency representatives and members of the Commnity based Task Force. These meetings are typically convened every 2-3 months at this time as extensive travel for providers residing outside of Marshall County is considered. Current task force projects include (but are not limited to):
1. Distribution and publicizing of materials related to the 'MARSHALL COUNTY RESOURCE DIRECTORY' including linkages to the RESOURCE DIRECTORY VIA MARSHALL COUNTY WEBSITE in near future. 2. Support and participation of MCBHTF members in the Aunt Martha's Organization Grant Application process 3. Continued work on Goals/Objectives for Task Force/Organizational framework and memoranda of understanding with participating service agencies and development of strategic plan for the MCBHTF (NOTE: This site is maintained by volunteer member(s) of task force and will be updated as possible. Most recent revision being February 25,2010)
