Dr. Pierre Paquin (former postdoc) - Pierre worked on endangered Cicurina from Texas caves

Dr. Cor Vink (former postdoc) - Cor worked on gene development for the Spider ATOL project

Steven Thomas (former MS and undergraduate student) - Undergraduate research on the Appalachian laniatorean Fumontana; MS thesis research on phalangodid laniatoreans in the southeastern US. Currently employed in the Genetics Division at CRES (Conservation and Research for Endangered Species)

Michael Lowder (former MS student) - Intraspecific genetic divergence and hybridization in the Habronattus amicus species complex. Now teaches at Kendall Valley Elementary School in North Carolina

Sarah Crews (former MS student) - Phylogeny, biogeography, and morphological evolution in Homalonychus spiders from the desert Southwest. Now a Ph.D. student at UC Berkeley

Krista Pease (former MS student) - Interdisciplinary degree in Science Education working on the development and assessment of a Coastal Sage Scrub educational curriculum at Cabrillo National Monument. Currently lives and works in Berkeley, CA

Maggie Reinbold (former MS student) - Population genetics and phylogeography of saucer bugs (naucorids) from desert springs of Baja California. Now the Conservation Education Specialist at CRES (Conservation and Research for Endangered Species)

Steve Foldi (former MS student) - Species limits and phylogenetic relationships in the Habronattus tarsalis species group, focusing on the study of male morphology. Now in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona

Jim Starrett (former undergrad) - Cryptic divergence and biogeography of the California turret spider, Atypoides riversi. Now pursuing his Ph.D. at UC Riverside with Dr. Cheryl Hayashi

Joe Deas, Jr. (former undergrad) - Worked on various molecular projects, including some opilion research. Now in the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program in Insect Science at the University of Arizona

Dustin Wood (former lab associate) - Conducted a side-project on Hypochilus thorelli phylogeography. Currently working for the USGS in San Diego

Our Mission

We discover and describe arachnid biodiversity, rely upon modern research techniques to explore the evolutionary diversification mechanisms that underlie this amazing diversity, and apply our combined knowledge to efforts of arachnid and habitat conservation
