We're Finally Married!

After dating for 6 years and being engaged for 2, we finally tied the knot on June 27, 2008.

Getting Ready

I didn't have our photographers come do any "getting ready" pictures, so these were all taken with our cameras.

Ceremony

The ceremony was beautiful and went exactly as planned. Father Bob really made an attempt to make it personal for us, and Derek provided some great comic relief!

Before our vows, the priest said, "This is your last chance." This picture was Derek's reaction.

THE KISS!

And after....

Mr. and Mrs!

We still don't know who brought the bubbles, but I like how they look in this picture!

Then it started raining too hard for any more outdoor pictures...

Reception

Details

I love how you can see the reflection of the centerpieces in the window in this picture. I don't really have any others that show it, but it looked amazing once it got dark out.

Introductions

The bridal party was introduced to "Two Step" by Dave Matthews Band

We were introduced to "Shipping Up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys. Such a dramatic song to be introduced to and, of course, it was a subtle Red Sox reference.

Toast

My matron of honor and best friend of 21 years, Lisa, volunteered to make the toast. She was amazing. Mine (and everyone's) favorite part was the last line. It's a quote from the movie "Hitch."  "Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away."
I can't wait to get our video to listen to her toast again!

She also asked the DJ to play "That's What Friends Are For" which has literally been "our song" since we were 4 years old. This was my face when the song started playing at the end of her toast...

Cake

We cut the cake to "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. It's not one of the traditional "cake cutting songs" but I love it and wanted to use it somewhere.

First Dance

"Steady As We Go" by Dave Matthews Band. Perfect.

Father/Daughter Dance

"My Wish" by Rascall Flats

My dad's birthday was 3 days before the wedding, so after our dance, I surprised him by having the coordinator bring his piece of cake out with a candle in it and having the DJ lead our guests in singing happy birthday to him.

Time to Party!

My father's side of the family. These are most of the children and grandchildren with my grandfather.

Luckily, before our photographers left, we noticed that it had stopped raining and we were able to get some beautiful pictures outside in the gazebo.

The pictures below were taken by our DJ and added to his website.

The Macarena

"We Are Family"---All of DH's and my cousins, aunts, and uncles got on the dance floor. One of my favorite moments from the night!

My uncles are holding the limo bar, my BM is going under, and my aunt is waiting her turn.

Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, we spent 6 days at the Planet Hollywood Resort/Casino in Vegas!

After being on a plane for 8 hours, I was starving and ready for a nap.

We won some money our first night there!

We had a great time in Las Vegas and did a lot of really fun things, but honestly the best part about it was spending the entire week alone together with no other responsibilities. We were really able to enjoy each other's company and let it sink in that we are finally married!

Our wedding date was the same as my parents and we got married in the same church. The date was completely unintentional since my parents got divorced when I was 7, but since my mom passed away when I was 14, it sort of made me feel like it was her way of giving us her blessing.
