Climate change and marine fouling community

Climate change can alter community structures as species which have adapted to the changed climate can compete better with other species. It can also influence the recruitment and invasion success of marine introduced species. Elkhorn Slough of California is one of estuaries which are highly invaded by marine exotic species (58 species). Especially, there is tendency that the higher number of invasive species exist in the upper estuary than in the lower estuary.
