Kid-Safe Web BrowsersKid-Safe Search Engines | We all want the best for our children and most of us would do just about anything to make sure that they are safe from harm. We make sure that they buckle their seatbelts when they get into the car. We don't let them play in dangerous areas that may result in injury. We make sure that we know where they are at all times. But are we following the same precausions while they are online? This website is dedicated to educating parents on many of the dangers that may go unnoticed in their child's life each day. I am talking about the dangers that lurk in some of the darker regions of cyberspace. According to analysts at Alexa Internet, nearly 1.5 million web pages are added to the WWW each day. The Internet is a vast and ever-growing medium containing billions of web pages, chat rooms, blogs, podcasts, wikis, movies, music, software, etc. It offers ideas and information to be exchanged across the room or across the world in literally, nanoseconds. Never before has so much information and media been so accessable to all of humanity, so quickly. My belief is that with all of this information and power at our fingertips there comes a greater responsibility for its proper use, and an even greater responsibility for educating our children how to use it responsibly. Throughout this site there are several links to websites, articles and resources for parents to learn from and use. Please take some time to navigate the site and learn about how we can best keep our children safer using today's many technologies.
