Since arriving in Liverpool in 1989, Mark has been involved in a variety of bands and collaborations in a variety of roles, from founder member to session musician. Bands that Mark has been involved with include: (click on links to see band websites)

- Zeb (1991 - 2001), underground cult band specialising in Semi-improvised psychedelic folk-world-dub (founder member)
- The Hat Band (2002 - present), trip-hop dubby pop band including several Zeb members plus the awesome vocals of Charlene Squire (founder member)
- Blue Ruby (2002 - 2004), 80's pop influenced quirky rock and pop band (invited to join as backing vocalist / horn player /etc)
- The Coral (2003), psych-pop rock band (studio session musician, clarinet)
- Furious Angel (2005 - present), songwriting partnership with lyricist Glen Evans, producing classic leftfield pop and rock songs
- French Trad Dance Band, a collective of musicians and dancers with an interest in traditional French and other music and dance
