2011 Golf Tourney Rakes in $6,000 for the Plattsburgh College Foundation!
We almost hit the $6,000 mark, so I donated the difference so that we could hit that benchmark in 2011! That brings the total for the first 7 years of the tourney to $33,767! Most of these funds have been used to endow the Mark Rabin Memorial Scholarship, which is currently at $1,000 and has now been awarded twice!

2010 7th Annual Mark Rabin Tourney
Extra, Extra: $250 Walmart Foundation "Volunteerism Always Pays" Award Received! We are pleased to announce that we have received $250 from the Walmart Foundation, which has helped us to break the $6,000 barrier and reach a grand total for the 2010 tournament to $6,003.31! This grant was received because one of our marketing grads, Matt Murray, volunteered at the tourney and works for Walmart! Many thanks to Matt and to Walmart!

The 6th Annual Mark Rabin Memorial Golf Tournament had 116 registered golfers, 125 people at the Awards Dinner, and the first "Hole in One" ever recorded in the history of the tourney! Bob Christopherson, Chair of the Economics and Finance Department at SUNY Plattsburgh, shot a hole in one on the 16th hole with his 5 iron! Witnesses included his sons Connor and Dylan, his father-in-law Albert Killian, and his former student Craig Seybolt. Bob won a set of NIKE irons!
 This year's tourney raised more money for the Mark Rabin Memorial Scholarship in Marketing than in previous years. The preliminary total raised was $5753.31 for the Plattsburgh College Foundation endowed scholarship. The first scholarship of $1000 was awarded to Ms. Kristen Knobloch, a marketing major, for the 2010-11 academic year. The second scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to Ms. Habiba Braimah in the 2011-12 academic year. New in 2010...35-Foot Sledgehammer Putting Contest and Hole-in-One Prizes for Par 3 Holes!       2009 ToURneY was an AsTounDing SuCCess!
A warm thanks to everyone who supported the 5th Annual Mark Rabin Golf Tourney on August 18, 2009! Thanks to the efforts of SUNY Plattsburgh Marketing Grad, Matt Murray, who is an assistant manager at the Plattsburgh Walmart Superstore, we have received a $250 grant from Wal-Mart Foundation that brings this year's total to more than $4,725, the highest tourney proceeds in the five-year history of the Mark Rabin Memorial Golf Tournament! All proceeds of the tournament go to the Plattsburgh College Foundation to benefit The School of Business and Economics. This year's proceeds bring the total fundraising from the tournament's 5-year history to more than $21,750! What's more, we have used the proceeds from the first five years to create an endowed scholarship--The Mark Rabin Memorial Scholarship in Marketing!The first recipient is Ms. Kristen Knobloch, who will receive a $1000 scholarship during the 2010-11 academic year!
