Wombwell is a former Mining Town situated in the heart of the Dearne Valley with Barnsley to the north and Rotherham to the south.
These days the Mines have gone mostly turned in to area's for walking and to promote wildlife.The Pennine Trail goes through Wombwell using the paths that used to have railway lines to transport Coal up and down the Country.
Wombwell has undergone new housing development that took advantage of of old unused industrial grounds. Today Job opportunities are very different from those around 20 years ago these days we have many more smaller but very good Businesses offering a wide variety of services.
