Urgent Notice re: WikiLeaks -- Jan. 9, 2011
The U.S. Dept. of Justice has issued a subpoena to seize the Twitter records of certain people who have helped Wikileaks, including an Icelandic legislator, and incidentally, is collecting information on the 637,000 people who "follow" Wikileaks on Twitter (see the actual subpoena--especially attachment A, section B). This indicates a prosecution coming against Julian Assange, and a generalized witchhunt of those who support freedom of information and the First Amendment.
A defense fund for Julian Assange has been set up by a British law firm,
Finers Stephens Innocent LLP

Although PayPal has cut off direct donations to Wikileaks, you can (so far) use PayPal to donate to the Julian Assange Defence Fund via the law firm.
Hands off WikiLeaks and Julian Assange!

PFC Bradley Manning denied visit by friend David House--Jan. 23, 2011
Manning, who has been accused of leaking the thousands of documents to WikiLeaks, has been held for months in solitary confinement at a brig in Quantico, VA, under conditions that amount to torture.
Today, when House went to visit Manning (with Jane Hamsher providing trasportation), both of them were detained by the guards in an obvious plan to deny the visit by using up visiting hours with questioning and harassment.
Manning should be freed from prison.
Donate to Bradley Manning's defense here.
